The Lavender suite where we stayed the night

We arrived to heat in the triple digits in St. Louis. Since the mansion is over 100 years old, the air conditioning isn’t exactly top notch in 100 degree weather. That’s why you see the fan here. I guess the air in the Lavender Suite was in the upper 80s when we arrived, and didn’t cool enough to get to sleep until around 3:00 am.

Here, in the Lavender Suite’s sitting room, the fireplace still works and the woodwork is all original. Simply magnificent!
